I found myself in one of DC’s most dangerous neighborhoods with routine gunshots, fireworks, police sirens, crazy domestic stuff happening with the neighbors, the smell of pot, and so much more. The host explicitly advertised the place as having “free street parking.” I got 5 tickets during my time there and the host was unresponsive and unwilling to resolve this issue in my favor. His “solution” was to park behind the property-down a disgusting trash filled alley that smelled horrible and I found a dead rat in alleyway. (I have a picture of where he told me to park and I’d love to send it.) There was clearly no regard for the guests and I had trouble with mice, yes MICE! When I got there, mouse droppings were on the counter and a short time later they began eating my food and leaving more droppings! The dishwasher didn’t work when I got there and that took nearly a week to finally fix. So much more to say, but please don’t stay here." The smell was ever present and made my clothes smell of cigarettes. Second was the bed, the frame has a few bent bars which meant it made noise when rolling around while sleeping.
